Weeks 7 and 8

These last couple of weeks has seen minor visible changes to the first addition. Work is still progressing but with some of the scaffold removed we were unable to get access for a week. The stairs are looking at installation around week 9 so we will have internal access from then - yay!

Works including prepping of bathroom for tile, finishing work on architraves and installation of the doors have been ongoing. Even with the doors yet to be painted, we are loving the contrast of the matte black (boy proof colour!) door handles and hinges.

The weekend was spent removing the last remaining furniture in preparation for demolition of walls during week 9. I can't even explain in words how exhausting it was, not to mention doing it with a bout of bronchitis and a middle ear infection - the Gods were seriously not on my side last week...but we managed to get through it, with a couple of beers for hubby and several medications for me (insert eye-rolling emoji). The kids pitched in, which was really helpful, especially the eldest, who worked some serious muscle to help his Dad lug the big stuff out. I vaguely remember promising him $20 in my drug-induced state, so better come good on that!

Timeline wise we have four weeks left, and we cannot wait for it to be all over so we can all get back into our rooms and routines.
